Agree (as usual) with MeanGreen. Synthetic (and Mobil 1 is a proven one) oil can take elevated temperatures and doesn't carbon up like regular oil.

I've got an N/A, not a turbo, but definitely agree that with newer cars like ours, synthetic is the way to go.
I usually go with Quaker State, but am considering trying Mobil 1 due to its acclaim on these forums.

I use Mobile1 in the Miata and the Cruiser, a blend goes into the wifes van and my sons Saturn (5W30 in all). I use a synthetic in the airplane too (costs $9 a quart for that!). Check in the general area of this site for a $10 rebate on Mobile1.
Advanced has a deal for 5-quarts and a Mobile1 oil filter for $30, through the 27th. TirePlus has a deal for a $20 oil change with a blend if you don't want to do it yourself - pretty cheap.

Mobil 1 for sure.
When I changed my rocker cover gasket I could see some build-up from the previous owners use of non-synthetic - made me shudder.

Synthetic a definite must however I’ve used Mobile 1 and Royal Purple and was much more impressed with Royal Purple. Not sure if there was an actual difference or it was just the butt dyno speaking but I have been much happier with Royal Purple, and seriously how cool is it that it’s Purple

Speaking of, just changed the oil and filter in the Cruiser Sunday - the easiest of any car I've owned (pretty much). Roll it up on portable racks, and everything is right there. I undercoated it while I had it up, less road noise now.
