These cars don't really shift all that fast, I was a bit surprised to find that out. New shift points.......when I floor it in auto mode, the needle goes to 6000 rpm(redline), but if i shift with moderate footwork, it will shift more around the area of 3-5 grand. Since I can shift when I want with the autostick, is it really necessary for the new shift points? Is boost increased with this S1? Which makes me wonder what the factory boost setting is....I think the SRT4 boosts at about 12-14 psi from the factory(I may be wrong).
Yes you have to change the trans programming when you do the S1, since the entire power curve has been altered, the trans has to change right along with it. Package deal.

No they don't shift all that fast as an auto stick, just the way they are, you get sorta the fun of a manual but you pay the price of having to wait for it to do the swapping of the cogs.

How do you know you are in O/D or 4th - EASY

When you slap the stick back to drop it into stick mode look down at your dash.. Big green numbers by the Odometer 1 2 3 4 which one has the box around it you are in that gear..

sorry....i have noticed the numbers, but i have never thought of 4th as O/D. So really, 4th(or overdrive) is just a fuel saver?

Listen to what Bosch says. She knows what she is talking about. One of the best mods I ever did to the '03 GT was stage 1. If you take a stock GT and a stage 1 GT and drive for the best mpg the stage 1 car will win. Stage 1 gives you more torque so it will take less gas to get going because of the added torque. It is also true that if you have a lead foot you will get worse mpg. It all comes down to the foot.

Yeah, a very weak one. Never boost in 4th gear.

Stage 1 is alot more than just 30hp. Ofcourse my mpg dropped WAY down because of the fun factor. Start to finish it took me 45 minutes or so to install injectors and PCM. But cause I had to have pinion factor entered I just told dealership to do the quick learn. Now I'm saving up for a needswings downpipe with elec cutout.
