Well my powersteering/ac belts'idler pulley squeaks like all get out. My dealer changed the belts twice and this last time put in a call to Chrysler engineering. He expects to have a response by the end of the month. I will give him till then, after that the next time it squeaks, he will have to keep it until he "fixes" it. According to the service manual he should have done the following:
The belt
The Tensioner
The Pulleys
Align the accessories.

Maybe I ought to tell him to follow the procedures in the fricking service manual

The stutter at high RPM. My new MCU is in... unfortunately the new cable they need has yet to show.

Macster, I was getting a slight sssssssk, ssssssk sound the last time it got cold. Is that what you were getting?

Overall though, quite happy with my car.

Don

Don

Thats it. It "appears" that there is a corellation between washing the car (spraying water on the grill area and around the hood with a water hose and the squeak) What appears to being happening is that the water carries contaminits (sp) on to the pulleys, which causes the belt to slip and hench squeek. The fix is to jack the car up on the passenger side, remove the inner splash panel and the belt. Then clean the pulley's very throughly. Like magic the squeak/ squeal goes away. Donot spray, belt cleaner (wanna buy a can) or any of that crap on the belts. Just clean the pulleys with a good cleaner (I used spray can brake parts cleaner) and it worked for me. I also used a tooth brush which I saturated with the cleaner and put it on the pulleys while the car was running at idle (never claimed to be smart). But I cleaned everything very throughly. I cleaned the "new" belt with a clean dry rag, nothing else. Tthrift also had a similar problem and used a similar solution. But I hope no one is dumb enough to do it while the car was running like I was. Its a skill that I developed, from years of being around rotating machinery, but its still a, extremely, stuipd thing to do. I also brought two stiff plastic brushes from Home Depot to use since they are none abrasive. Sorry for the long post, I'm tired and I'll correct any spelling and grammar errors later. But I just wanted to let you know what I did. I'm very happy with my car, but I want my dealer to follow the procedures in the service manual, when there is a problem.

Peace

macster

Had a Camshaft sensor go out at about 9,000. It made the engine look like it was running on 3 cylinders. Dealer found it an replaced it in 2 days.

Now I have 11,000 and so far so good.

I had all 4 rims replaced due to the chrome bubbling. Also had the PCM replaced due to the 5,200 RPM misfire issue.

Other than that, this thing runs great!

I'm taking mine in this week for the following;

High RPM miss
1 Rim, chrome bubbling
1 Rim, pitting
Steering wheel "rub" noise
Break peddle "rub" noise
A "squeaking" sound when I shut the car off

Well today had to make a run. Went to put my window down, wont go. Worked an hour earlier on the way to work. Try all others and they work. Not to cool. Icalled dealer and will be there in the morning. First thought was shoot, just put S1 in, and thought I blew something. But with the other 3 windows working, think must just be that button itself.

Work the window lock switch up and down a few times, then try the window again. This usually clears the problem up. If not, try the dealer.
