Default OIL FILTER

Whats the best oil filter? I plan on doing an oil change tomorrow for the first time. I am going to do Mobil 1 10w30, but need to know which oil filter to use.

5 quarts. Get a K&N filter and use synthetic 5W-30.

Andy,

Try this link: http://www.amsoil.com/products/sdf.html

I have used Mobil 1 filters and I am now going to use Purolator Pure 1 filters. Why? Heck of a lot cheaper to use the Purolator Pure 1. In the link, you will see that the filtering efficiency of a Mobil 1 and Purolator Pure 1 are the SAME. However, in Pittsburgh, the Mobil 1 filter is $12.00 ! The Purolator Pure 1 (PL 20195) is $5.50.

My two cents,

Scott

Oh, i forgot. How will i know what size oil filter to get? Are they all the same? In the book it says a Mopar 4781452AA (or equiv.) Will the other oil filters say that its the equiv? BTW, thanks a lot for all of the info so far!

Get one of those oil filter removers for like 3 bux. Chrysler mustve had quite a guy screw them on the first time. Took me forever! (Although I am a 98 lb weakling, others have had problems)

Hey Saki,

You actually got the factory one off? My 185 lb friends (yes, 2 of them) couldn't get that filter off. I ended up just changing the oil since the car only had 1500 km on it. Going to the dealer for the next oil change since I got lifetime oil changes when I bought the car.
