03 GT or 04 GT?

I'm currently in the market for a GT 5spd with sunroof and have found 2 in may area. Both are equipped almost identically.

The first one is an 03 with 42k. Not crazy about the color (light gold) but it is clean and low mileage for the year. No spoiler and a few little accents like the 04 and up pedals...

The second one is an 04 with 85k. LOVE the color (E blue) and its clean, but carfax shows a police reported accident. Somehow it contacted another vehicle and rear area damage was reported.

My question is that since the obvious choice here is the 03 is there any reason that I should stay away from it? I know that 03's had no spoiler and smaller injectors and the possibility no LDS, but is that all? I believe that I can live without these items, but is there anything else that I should know about the 03's?

Spoilers were an option, right from the beginning.
Nothing wrong with '03 GTs.
My daughter and son-in-law each have one.

How are the spoilers attached? Bolted or automotive tape?

Good to hear. The report that I got back from a good friend of mine that works at a Chrylser dealer that ran the VIN had great news about the 03 also. Chrylers records show that the origainal owners opted to go for the factor service plan too!

I gotta admit that the blue one is a looking ride, but then again the other isn't too shabby either and it's got a clean history with lower mileage...

I bought a '03 5 speed GT new and it was a nice car. Eventually modded it to 280 hp and it had V8s for lunch.

The spoiler bolts on. Some have added them, others have taken them off...

Sweet! But no mod's for this car if the deal goes down. I'll be using this to replace my current daily driver 86 Omni GLH turbo.

I've got other cars to play with and go fast...

Yeah I'm kinda on the fence about the spoiler anyway, but it's nice to know what type of job I'd be in for it I decide that I need to have it at some point...

I think that its some sort of "almond" color. Again not my choice of colors but not horrible either...

In 03' they called it Light Almond Pearl Metallic Clearcoat. Not bad. IMHO one of the better colors when it was matched with the woody package.

I have an '04 and love it. Neither year came with an LSD though There are a couple of aftermarket options. Both have traction control I believe, but that is mostly good for breaking axles!

Well just returned home from the test drive and look over of the Almond colored GT. Looked good and drove well as a lower mileage car should, but just when I was getting excited to start talking a deal, on my final look around I always check for tape/paint lines in the door jams and under the doors and rockers for rust. Didn't find anything but durring the inspection I noticed that the rear wheel opening was starting to bubble out in rust (see pic). Needless to say finding that was a total buzz kill.....

So my search continues.....
