I spoke with engineering today about this overheating problem that a few of us including myself have experienced the problem as we all know by now is the rad fans do not come on!! the fix should arrive at dealers within the next few weeks it's a a new flash otherwise known as a software revision the PCM is forgeting to ground the rad fan module. In the meantime if you experience this condition turn off youre vehicle and imediatly start it up again this will usually wake up the PCM may take several attempts and run youre heater on high!! I am not sure if this flash will work on stage 1 PCM but I hope it does cause I have experienced this problem with the stage 1 PCM I hope this awnsers some of your questions ask youre dealer in late October if it availabe!![:X]

The fix is already in the dealer's service department, the PCM is flashed with a standard DRBIII.

Is this going to be a recall? It sounds serious enough to me.

The flash may be available in the US but not up here in Canada the problem does seem to affect stage 1 PCM's along with factory PCM's
as far as the flashing the STAGE 1 PCM I do not know what the affects may be I will ask on Monday when I go back to work and speak with engineering

Why would it not be available in Canada?
Dont' listen to the dealer...with my Dad's GMC Envoy here in Canada we had CRAZY problems in dealing with the dealer as they refused to believe there was a TSB#...we had to have GM Canada call them personally while we were there. Later on we found they did indeed know about it...can't trust a lot of dealers... LIP

That may be the case...but why is it not available in Canada? My dad's GM dealership stated this through and through about his TSB's but he went to another dealer and had no problems after GM Canada called that dealer.
Anyways, I'd love to know the reason. Cheers, LIP

Welp, add my baby to the list of those affected. She overheated this morning- scared the crap out of me! The dealer is downloading the new program now to update my pcm. Hope this fixes it!

I know there is an issue with "high rev miss" and some have had the entire PCM replaced because of it, has anyone had the overheating problem after the PCM (stock) was replaced?

I am sure to update my dealer on this. Hope my car won't overheat again (if I can get a PCM update that is).
