Is the '01 a manual? Because all SRT-4s are manual, so you'd have to make for a clutch pedal if the PT is an auto..
Anything is possible if you are creative, have patience, and/or money...

It won't be easy, but you'll have fun building it. It'll be a GT cruiser as there will be nothing srt about it. The GT and neon srt-4 have the same engine.

ill be using the t850 tranny with it. i cant see it being to difficult to do i have one many custom motor swaps in the past so this motor is ment for a pt any how should make it allot easier. i just wasnt sure if there was anything different in the earlier pts compared to the late ones.

The srt-4 uses a different intake manifold, intercooler plumbing, intercooler, the throttlebody is reversed, and different pcm programming. All can easily be overcome with GT/turbo lite parts. I heard the t850 was 1 1/2" too long to fit in the PT. I don't know first hand so I don't know for sure. Have fun and keep us up to date.

T850 is euro garbage that was designed for diesel applications and used in the srt4. Its not made for power shifts or clutch drops. What starts out as spider gears (if driven rough) will end up as a pile of shavings. Get the getrag 5 speed. The can be had for $600 and are reffered to as "rock crusher".

I found this info for you about a guy that did the same project you want to build. I hope it helps.
