I've seen these on Ebay for a 2006 up so I'm not sure if you can get one for older cars. From what I have read it's a lot of work and if you were to get one without doing the proper work to the engine and the auto tranny I'm sorry to say your PT wouldn't hold up very well.

Yeah Bro my opinion shouldn't count for much, because I don't know to much about turbo cars. If I got that kit in the mail I would be WTF to I do with it. Hopefully someone like Mean Green will see that thread and can give you some good advice. You can also do a search and you will turn up some threads about it.

ok. i was thinking of either turbocharging it or waiting for the motor to go and replace it with a GT motor.

Yes, that's the way to go. The GT motor is good for 600hp. The non turbo motor has weaker internals than the GT motor. You can only boost around 8psi on the non turbo motor and with the GT motor, with the right supporting mods, you can boost 20psi+.

From what I have read that's not easy either, unless you have the whole GT for parts. everything on these cars are computerized so you just can't change parts these days. Back in the day it was easy to switch engines, my buddy had a big old tree in his yard and a we would use it to hoist out at engines all hours of the night, another friend worked at the local junk yard, which was our biggest source for parts.

It sounds like you have a PT in great condition, why don't you take care of it while you save some money and than sell it and buy a GT PT.

Ok i'll most likely end up just doing an engine swap when this one goes.

I would if it wasn't so special to me. About a month ago my grandmother died and she left me the car in her will. Its got alot of sentimental value. its only got 49k on it right now.
