No fall off in performance after trans learns. Doesn't take very long. The engine adaptation takes like one pull through the rev range to make major changes, minor (and I mean itty bitty small) changes happen all the time.

I had my PCM changed out a couple of weeks ago. The car ran better and responsed quicker to throttle input, that was when I was in the big city doing mostly city driving. Driving up back up the coast, the ugly P1188 code lite up like a christmas tree again. Anybody has any idea whether DC is planning to do anything with the recurring code. I was hoping the new PCM has fix for that code.

I haven't ever gotten a P1188 code with either PCM. Are you stock or have you added a boost controller?

Mine is as stock as it comes, the only changes I done to it is a K&N filter. One of the dealer I visited tried to tell me DC might void my warranty by changing the type of filter I used and it might be the root of my trouble. Told them DC sell the same filter under the Mopar brand. I have had this problem every since new.

When all else fails, tell them that we will void the warranty! Don't you love dealers. They are too stoopid to work out a problem so they try to blame it on a fully legal modification. That is always their fallback position so you have to take them to court to enforce a warranty. They know that most people will just drop it and go away. I saw this so many times when I worked with car dealers it made me sick. They are really a bunch of thieves.

Actually the owners manual spells out the "legal" modifications, one of which is the filters.

smooth shifts are bad aren't they, i thought a real performance shift was when it slams into gear like with a shift kit...

isn't a smooth s(unfelt) gear change actually damaging your tranny?

Back to the thread subject . . .

I am now on my second tank of gas since the new PCM. Gas mileage HAS NOT improved. I am still getting only 16 in town. However, the car runs better especially at high RPM. I also noticed that the power does not fall off when shifting so it pulls through the gears better.

Once again . . . If you haven't had your PCM replaced yet, call your dealer with the TSB information in hand. They will order the new PCM and you can have it installed in less than a week.

Imagine this . . . I'M ACTUALLY HAPPY WITH MY DEALER!!

Called my dealer about the new PCM. Gave them the TSB# and my last 8 of my VIN#. They said nothing was coming up for my 03 GT. It was built in July of 02. I fit in the catagory described by COP TZR. Any input would be appriciated.

Had my PCM replaced today. I had to uninstall S1(just PCM)to take it in. I could tell a big change with stock to S1 in. After the new PCM I can say it runs really great. Shifts are way better than stock old PCM. I am going to run it a bit with new PCM and then put the S1 PCM back in. I got in the car and went a block, no speedo, engine light on, turn around go back tell the young buck who did the work, he looks a little stressed, tell him hey you just have to program the pinion, he does and all is well. Not a bad experiance at all. It does run stronger with the new PCM. I just called and quoted the TSB and they ordered it and today put it in.
