I need some help. I have installed a drop in K&N filter and now my PT seems to run slower and gets worse gas mileage. Does anyone have any similar problems or possibly some ideas of how to cure this.

Easy cure put old filter back in. I did just what you did with all my silencers in and felt no difference. Took out the two silencers in air cleaner assembly and car felt a little faster with more sound effects. Put on K&N Typhoon assembly and felt more power and lots more sound!! It does cruise at same sound levels as flat K&N with both silencers gone!

Usually, when you add an engine/exhaust/etc. mod, disconnect your battery for a few minutes to clear out/reset your computer and when you start it back up the computer will readjust to compensate for the mod. Otherwise, some people have reported, it will take about 200 miles before the computer will adjust to your mod. Believe there were also reports of oil getting on either the IAT or MAP sensor, from over-oiled K&N filters. Might want to do a search on the subject.

My car seemed to run worse too after changing the filter and exhaust. All is well now since I had the new PCM installed. If you don't have stage 1 yet, you should take your car in for a new PCM. It is covered by a TSB. Steve
