Default Missing bolts!

I was just checking my '03 GT for our trip to Indy and discovered a problem. The fan housing seemed to be "floating" free from the radiator. Upon further inspection, 4 of the 6 fan housing bolts were missing. I replaced the bolts and used lock washers this time. I'm curious if anyone else has had this problem. Over the past few weeks, I have noticed with my Scangauge that my temp has been a bit higher. I thought it was because of warmer weather. Do you think having the fan housing not in contact with the radiator could cause the higher temp readings? Any thoughts?

That's possible but you'll find out soon enough now that you put the bolts back in.

Meanwhile, have you had the fan/housing replaced by a garage or dealer at sometime? Are you the second owner? Those bolts just don't come loose themselves. Somebody has worked on your car and forgot to put all the bolts back. Sloppy technician!

Nope! I'm the original owner and have had her since Dec. of 2003. "Knock on wood," only one warranty claim and that was for leaking oil cooler tubes, but that was two years ago. Cooling system was flushed, but nothing done to the cooling fan. My only thought is that the plastic likes to vibrate at a different harmonic than the metal and over time it caused the bolts to loosen. My dealer is top-notch. They even gave me the replacement bolts for no cost. Not very common in these days. Thanks for the thoughts.
