Punch,

I do have the DynoMax muffler (#17732) and a 2 1/4 mandrel bent pipe from CAT to muffler but they were separate pieces. I first bought the PaceSetter CAT back from JC Whitney. That came with the pipe and a tin can for a muffler. It was way too loud and tiny sounding (can you say RICE). I did away with the PaceSetter muffler and bought the DynoMax. I'm happy with it. Not a lot of noise but deep burbling sound at idle. The air intake actually makes more noise that the muffler at full throttle.

Punch, one thing to think about. I think Crewzin Cary's is a n/a not a GT, so it should not be as loud as his since the turbo drounds out some sound Anyone agree[:I] disagree[:I] TGIF[^]

Your right Kevin. Non-turbo but I don't know about drowning out the sound. Without a comparison of the two engines, it's hard to say. The DynoMax is not very loud, as I said, and even the rushing of air into the intake overpowers the sound of the muffler at full throttle, so if your looking for some noise, the one I have isn't for you.

I had a Dynomax Walker Super Turbo muffler (axleback) on both the '01 and my GT. When it was on the '01 (automatic) I liked it. Little bit of a drone at freeway speeds, but I liked it. When my wife took possession of the '01 she didn't like the drone so I put my GT muffler on her '01 and put the Dynomax on my GT. I liked it on my GT. Nice tone and less of a drone at freeway speeds because it is a 5-speed. I wanted more of a flow through exhaust so I got the BTG (I love it!) and gave the Dynomax to a fellow club member.

Turbos definitely reduce exhaust noise....they're busy convertin the noise and velocity of exhaust gasses into more power for your engine!!

I love my exhaust system now. It has the perect sound for me, minimal burble, good construction with no clunks or rattles and is much freer flowing than stock.
i went custom 2.5" pipes to a transverse Magnaflow single in dual out with 2.25" tips. Can't see the muffler at all, so cleans up the back end. Now u can see my nice bright red rear Eibach Sway Bar.
