Default miles per gallon ? premium gas

How many miles per gallon, we get from our GT vehicle ?
i am getting only 16 on the city i try gast from 3 stations same results,
I know i have a heavy foot so i let the wife drive the vehicle for 2 weeks
and i got 17.5 and 17
there is only 34k miles in this vehicle automatic

i get about 23 from my 2001 limited 5 speed over 100k miles i know the 5th gear helps but there is a big diference

with my wife driving we average about 14mpg city and highway.

with me driving ive gotten 19/23

my neon gets 28/35

wow , so this is ok for the vehicle

I saw the news on CNBC couple of days ago, on how they blame the BP oil disaster on US the cosumers and our big suv's with V8 engines that only get 17 mpg

that is what i get from my 4cyl engine

because of the weight of these cars (3200lbs) and the small amount of power an N/A puts out of course its gonna use more fuel to move it. same goes for the turbo (boost=more fuel). theres a big difference between my wifes PT and my neon. because my neon weights 500lbs less then her's at 2720.

its always best to keep a spare tire because you never know when you'll need it. my wifes pt didnt come with one and with new tires and a nail left us stranded. good thing i have some good friends with 5x100 spare tires. if your not halling people around you'll see better weight reduction by removing the rear seats.

I have friends with tow trucks

will changing the oil from 10w to 5w help a little ? there needs to be a way to get a at least 2 more miles per gallon

NO i like the interior, I am going in the morning to the mufler shop we are doing 3'' from the turbo to the back i am keeping the cat because i don't like the check engine light on
and on the weekend i am doing new plugs and wires
ill let you know the results

Put an extra 2-3 PSI in the tires.
