Is there anywhere where the 160 configs are listed?? I can't think of more then 10 or so possibilities. Let alone 160!!!

Maybe they are counting each position the seat can be reclined to as a different configuration, still hard press to come up with 160.

Seeing that most of the population that purchases these cars is over 25 years of age, things like cargo room and comfort would be more appealing than hearing about the turbo and bullet proff engine, etc...

I would caution anyone that just looks at current purchasing stats to predict the potential of the PT. My High School senior and I resurrected an old Porsche 944 for his transportation......ANY day of the week he would swap for the PT. He and his buddies love it for cruzin. There is a whole universe of young buyers that aren't being touched by ads that show a black and white of the PT driving on the desert (my boy asked me what the heck they were talking about when they mention seating arrangements).

If I remember correctly, this is an old preturbo commercial with pinstripe and voice overlays. Check and see if the PTs have Turbo bumpers?[:I]

I completely agree with you - my point was that DC recognizes that a majority of the buyers are of an elder age group, and sticks to it most of the time. The PT Cruiser, esp. the GT. has a strong potential to become popular among a younger generation, if it is marketed the right way. I'm 20 years old, and personally the commercial didn't really make me want to go out and buy one... DC could try and change the outlook of the PT, IMO it seems they have been comfortable with the number of sales.

There are new ads for the GT in magazines like Car and Driver (page 73) that talk a little about it's horsepower. It's not much, but it's a step.

If they aren't GT's, then someone went through a lot of trouble to put the GT 5 spoke chrome rims on them.
