Default Basic question

If I want to add a Cold Air intake and Exhaust do I have to get the car tuned. I was told I would have to get the car tuned bc it would run lean. Is this true?

What i did was to install exhaust and intake, then unhook the battery
cable for 5 or 10 min. hook back up start the car and the drive it. the computer will relearn the way you drive...And you should get a better response from your car.

You didn't say what year your PT is but you can't go wrong with new plugs and wires..

Ratdaddy is correct.
Ask whoever told you that - how exactly would they tune it? There are no adjustments - all computer.

My question is on the exhaust, should I do a full cat back or just replace the muffler. I know cat backs are just bolt on but I just didnt know if it really mattered.

Depends on what you are looking for. If you intend to mod heavily then do the cat back. If you just want a little more growl then just do the muffler, or as some have done delete the muffler altogether!

Straight pipes for the win! Or, you can do like I'm doing and retro-fit an SRT-4 exhaust onto your PT!

You also need a self-tapping screw for the passenger's side hanger, and you'll have to lose your spare-- but I can't use mine anyway-- to low.
