I went in for a warranty claim on my car because the bearings on the turbo went. They call me the following day stating that THE ADDITION OF MY BLOW OFF VALVE CAUSE THE TURBO TO SEIZE!! WTF!!! Caliming that when the BOV releases the pressure and allows the turbo to keep spinning, that due to rpm on the motor falling there is not enough oil pressure to lubricate the turbo!
They're basically claiming their crappy components breaking on a wuality aftermarket product that could not possibly have caused the problem. When they told me this it blew my freaking mind.

Once again Chrysler has screwed over another customer...I hope these people get hit by falling airplane parts!

And there it is...
COP TZER

Lets make lemonade out of this. If you can find a poc, we can get a letter writing campagin (sp) going. They did something like that for white coke on the srt forum. If enough of us write and or show support for you, we can get something done. We can put together a list by emails if people are not comfortable with providing names. ANDDDD don't forget that we have that BIGGGG PTTT block party happening next week. Something like this won't go over well there. It would be a very, very ugly question to have to explain in front of all those PT fanatics, especially when DCM will be trying to convince us to buy Stage II. Actually, I nominate Kriby to take the lead on this. He is actually the most logical choice. (I'm dead serious)

Hmm, sorry I missed this when it was first posted. There are exactly three engineers who could make the call on whether a BOV would blow a turbo bearing - and none of us heard anything about this. Lemme find the number for the STAR center and post it. We should be able to do something for you...

So, if I understand you correctly- if I buy a BOV
and a Stage 1 and they are dealer installed AND
I have problems later but they are "NOT" something
I did--you will try to make it "good to me?"
Correct or Not??? I KNOW they are NOT covered
by a warrenty. This is my only stumbling block.
I would really like to do the modds but I can't
eat an engine rebuild myself (who can)? H.

3BarBoost,

Thanks for trying to give COPTZER a hand in this unfortunate incident!

This is why I come to this forum...it's people who are informed and knowledgable like 3BarBoost that give this site some credibility.

The point about the Mopar Performance Parts warranty (and other aftermarket parts) is that if the part is determined to be the cause of a component failure, then the OEM warranty does not have to be honored. And that is the sticky thing - determining whether or not the aftermarket part had anything to do with the system. Sometimes the region makes the call, sometimes it is sent back to engineering. Sounds like in this case it never got to us.

I see the STAR center number was already posted in the Steam Room. We are off for Veteran's Day today, so nothing will happen from my end till next week. However, I urge COP TZER to contact Customer Assistance and complain. Also, wouldn't hurt if he posted the name and location of his dealer so customers can avoid it...
