Default Just got my first GT! GT PT 05 Convertible

Hey guys,

First of all, I am glad I found this forum, it's already filled my head with lots of ideas. I saw the Diablo predator for the engine/turbo tuning and a couple of other tips and tricks.

I'm really impressed with the vehicle so far, and I got a deal I couldn't pass up. '05 GT PT Convertible with 52k miles for $7,900. So out with the wife's Grand Prix GT and in with the new toy.

It's kind of a champagne color, it's fully loaded, power everything, leather interior, tan/beige ragtop to match interior, 17 chrome rims, chrome grill, etc.

It's truly a beaut, and it's all stock.

With 52k miles, I'm sure I can get a lot of performance out of it and I'd like to know what you guys think I should start with.

Thanks

in my opinion, even though its only 52k miles, you should definitely do a vacuum test to see if theres any vacuum leaks for the turbo, to make sure you're hitting full boost and such.. also plugs and wires are good to start with, and i'd do an oil change to FULL SYNTHETIC asap! may also wanna get the auto tranny flushed and refilled with atf+4 if its an auto. then for mods, you're gonna want a k&n filter and air box mod, also exhaust if its a priority. thats a good starting point

Thanks!

I will definitely do that ASAP!

Any advice on where to get the air filter?

Also, the exhaust sounds really freaking throaty, it's a dual exhaust, I can't imagine needing more beef. (at the moment at least)

It seriously sounds like this thing is one of those riced out hondas.

Welcome to the Forum!!!

One of the best places to see and buy "PT TOYS" is at raceandstreet.com, talk to Maggie, she will match any price you may have gotten from anyone else.

I saw your post over on PT Crew too. Check out the Mod Bible there for performance stuff. There are write-ups on many mods.

So someone already put an aftermarket dual exhaust on it? Show us a picture so we can identify it. Great start.

Check out the Have and Have Not forum on PT Crew and the Classifieds forum here for performance parts. Someone is always selling something you will want. I am sure you will find a K&N for sale there.

Is that a California plate? Where are you located?

From what I was told the dual exhaust is stock.

I'll go take some more pics.

I'm in Nor-Cal (SF area)
