Default 02 N\A to 03gt swap. Couple ?'s

My dad owns a 02 pt n\a 5spd. He just bought a whole 03 gt auto. This car is complete minus wheels and other little stuff. We are looking to do a full engine swap along with harness and ecu and anything else if needed. The main question i have is the 5 speed out of the 02 n\a compatible with the turbo block? Now i understand from a strength stand point that the n\a 5 spd is not as strong as the turbo 5spd's but this is my father we are talking about. No drag racing or nonsense from this guy. Does anyone know if we will need the fuel pump in the gt vs. the n\a? I assume that if i have to swap them i can just swap the tanks 1 for 1. Will we have to swap out the complete exhaust system or is some of it compatible. We already have the transaxle and engine out of the car. wasnt too bad. Hoping someone can give me some insight on the tranny situation. Any and all help is definately appreciated.

Ps. great board!!!

You posted on PTCrew, also, right?
Anyway, welcome to the forums.
Don't know if manual bolts right up - suspect it does, but that's the least of your problems -
The GT has a different wiring harness and engine computer - and if you take the one from the GT, it'll be expecting an auto...
There was a guy on PTCrew who changed a GT from auto to manual - you might want to contact him.

yes that was me as well over on ptcrew. I will try to look him up. It seams as from the replies over there that the tranny and clutch will work "OK" but that the ecu is the going to be the biggest hurdle. I looked at a wiring schematic of the auto and there is indeed ALOT of connections that go to the ecu. Alot of solenoid wires that look to have alot to do with the auto stick feature.
