In short: Aftermarket parts do not void the car's warranty. Says so in your owner's manual. Legal precedent even. However, if an aftermarket part is deemed to be the cause of a failure related to the aftermarket component - then the consumer is liable. So your loud exhaust does not prevent you from getting a new CD player if it decides not to eject your Earth, Wind & Fire. Each case is handled individually, sometimes gets all the way back to engineering (however, in one case so far - we still haven't even gotten the failed turbo to look at).

Any powertrain failure could be easily blamed on the stage I/II kit. Heck they denied warranty due to a bov. I am not concerned about my CD player but I am concerned about the powertrain assembly. I personally do not believe that stage I or II would cause a failure. However, components fail all the time under normal wear and tear and you can bet more times than not with a stage kit on the vehicle the dealer and Chrysler will deny the warranty! Get into the 21!st century Daimler/Chrysler!
And... With some PCM monitors disabled and setting codes you will never see the stage kits CARB certified! This is what really burns my toast! |

Yes...Chrysler is going to rip you off. They do not care about you, if they can come up with some BS excuse not to help you, they will.

I learned today that we didn't get COP TZER's turbo back for analysis because Chrysler didn't pay for the repairs and therefore has no rights to the part. If the BOV did cause the failure (what's the release pressure set at?), then it might happen again.
Give me an email (I have a yahoo address now threebarboost@yahoo.com) and I'll pay for shipping to get the part back to Detroit - if you want to know whether the failure was related. It's only other thing I can offer, as no-one back here was consulted for your repair.

Aren't your hands tied? What could you do?
I assume that you have some latitude? I would REALLY like to have a Staged Package too but Mom wouldn't like it if I break her car. I am still in the dog house over some other previous expenditures. Read( TOO MANY ADD ONS)!!!! |

One aspect of corporate life is, when VPs change hats (as they do so often), they base their new regieme on a "Program". The one great hope is that some unknown (now) suit will step up and have some courage to support a real "Program" that will allow Mopar Performance to compete with the rest of the world. Very often the basis for doing the right thing is buried in absurdities (much as the basis for the PT-originally funded to get better mileage numbers for the truck lineup). Hope springs eternal.

IMHO I suspect that DCX didn't anticipate the numbers of GT owners would want to pump up the hp/tq #'s; that's my take on the removal of the rear stabilizer bar first; followed by the refusal to install it even though it doesn't have the dreaded P prefix. I know that it would allow me to overdrive my skills with 300/300 #'s - but I'd sure as hellwould like to be a right seater with say Tommy Kendall in the left.

I feel for all you guys.I have a very modded car Stockum mtr,Crane ing.Hahn turbo and a lot more toys that was my biggest problem was giving up the warranty. That was 8000 miles ago now at 37,000 miles.I have had a couple egr codes that are now ironed out and a couple of missfire codes that I could care less about usually plug problems.Do I expect more problems yes I do!One thing I feel is that DC does watch these boards and when the majority of talk is about 1/4 mile times it gets them thinkin .If my car had a 7/70 warr. I would have never done the mods that I did Flashback and I talked about this at great lenghts. My car is a playtoy not a every day driver if it was I would have also thought twice about mods. OC Cruiser car is modded about like mine and his is a daily driver I think he has put about 40,000 miles since upgrades. You guys are DC test bed maybe at some point they might warr. upgrades but when they see everybody is racin and beatin on their cars maybe not. I have done the same upgrades as stage 2 I really dont think you will see problems with injectors and pcm but u might with some of those turbo toys like the sprayer. What bothers me is when u buy the upgrade and they log your serial number you lose your warranty in their eyes. lets hope they never come out with a national computer program that as soon as you thke your car in for service and they put your vin. into computer bells and whistles start goin off and the trap door opens and your gone to DC HE!!. I still would do it HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!
