The only time that you could have a problem switching to synth from dino is if the engine is old and has a lot of sludge and crap in it. The synth flows better and I have heard of seals leaking some once the gunk has been cleaned out of them. If you are dealing with a relatively new engine and it has been well maintained you should have no problems with the switch. I used synth in a mustang I bought once that was kind of a high miler and while it did not leak, it did use a bit more oil (not a smoker, just normal consumption) than when I switched back to dino.

Hi Gary04GT!

In Germany, Chrysler recommends 7.500 miles/12 month for the GT4 (turbo) - for all types of oil.

Using a B4 (long interval) synthetic oil, Mercedes-Benz says 12.500 miles/12 month, Volkswagen says 18.500 miles/24 month.

But my toy would never wait 2 years for a new "drink". [|)]
