Question Rear windows went down on their own

The wife was driving in the rain yesterday when first the left rear window suddenly went down, followed shortly by the right rear. About 15 minutes later, she was able to use the dash controls to get them up again.

Did water cause a short or what? Never had this happen before. Any ideas as to what caused this?

Have her look in the back for your son or daughter playing with the window controls on the rear of the floor console.

Funny, I had my grandkids in my PT (in the back) and once in awhile the back window(s) would go down. I was startled, the kids were wondering what happened and then I saw he had his foot resting on the floor console controls.

"Possibly" moisture got into the window control in the front dash. Easy to take out and make sure all the connections are secure and look for any signs of moisture in the area.

Thanks Crewzin! There was only two people in the car at the time. They had lots of stuff in the back though so maybe the load shifted and rested on the window controls.
If it happens again I'll check the front panel for moisture. Manzanman

Also, on the early models...not sure how far up...you can "lock-out" the rear switches..keeps the we ones from playin'..
