Need help guys, installed my timer in yesterday. Easy install with Hector's (exhaust depot) video.
Now questions for those that do have the Blitz installed: Does the display on your radio turn off but you can still hear the radio? Does your alarm arm itself after the engine shuts down. I can lock the doors with the key or the key fob but it doesn't arm itself. Is there a way to get it to do this? I did do a search but I didn't find any definite answers on this. |

I have a turbo timer that came with my aftermarket alarm and the radio turns off after the key comes out and yes, you must arm it. I have no experience with the Blitz but I dont think it would cause a problem to arm it while the engine in running.

The Blitz will let you lock your doors by the fob (or with the key or the lock sw on the door), but the alarm will not arm until the fob switch is pushed again AFTER the car stops rumnning. I have an aftermarket stereo front end, but the Head unit shuts off and then comes back on until the engine shuts down. This is normal behavior of the blitz TT unit on the GT. If I'm at someplace that the alarm needs to be armed right away, I'll turn the timer off and the alarm arms, just like the timer wasn't there. Sometimes I'll just wait for the GT to shut down, just depends whats playing on the satellite radio or the CD.......

so it's normal and I have nothing to worry about, other than remembering to arm the system after shutdown. thank you gear head and saki

I just installed the turbo timer and have the exact same problem.
Is there anyway to arm the alarm when the turbo timer is counting down? |

yes, this is totally normal. the alarm will not arm if the engine is still running. and no, there is no practical way to arm while the engine is running. if you want, there are some alarms that have a built in turbo timer that arm themselfs when the engine stops running.

buy an aftermarket alarm and you can, but with the stock one, you're S.O.L.

So is there any turbo timer I can use that works with the factory alarm?
