Default High RPM rattle?

So I took my car out earlier today to the back roads and had a bit of fun on the straight away. At high RPMS (I'll take notice when exactly at another time) prior to shifting up, I hear what sounds like a somewhat-loud rattle. It goes away immediately when the RPMS die down but I can't figure out what it is.

I'm thinking it might be exhaust related, maybe a loose bolt or something that's rattling when the exhaust note is near it's peak? It's something between a rattlesnake shaking it's rattle and a maraca (weird I know lol).

Wondering if anyone else has ever had this or might have an idea of what it could be. Might take a look at it later when I get a chance.

Oh and btw, this noise does NOT occur at any other time. Going over bumps, turning, going at moderate/slow speeds nothing. Only when the car is at WOT and the RPMS are up there. There are no changes in the way the car performs before, during, or after the noise and I have not received a check-engine light at all.

Detonation? Kinda doubt it, tho, you'd have four broken pistons in your hand

Engine knock - detonation or pre-ignition is my guess.

Really?

It sounds like it's just outside the car, and my DSP always states my car being at 0 or 0.5 ST and 0 LT.

Retarded the timing to make up for the stock 527cc injectors since S1 and 93OCT call for S1 injectors (577cc).

Sounds like detonation. Something screwy with the timing.

Too small injectors???? YIKES!
Not a turbo expert, but that much I do know

Are the piston lands broken off? lots of blow-by?

too bad you don't have E-85 in your area

Hmm..ok well not sure what to say to that.

The ST is consistently at 0-.5 while LT remains at 0.

It's why I retarded the timing, to make up for the lack of extra fuel. It's not an issue at all since the boost wasn't raised at all so I'm not running 'lean'.

Going back and reading the posts on PTCrew, the guys are eliminating anything boost related and engine pinging. If the engine was pinging it would happen at the highest load, not the highest RPM (the case here). I'm listening to suggestions here as well, the more the better.

Oh and in case anyone here asks what was asked there; yes I always and only run premium fuel, fuel was changed about 400mi ago with Mobile 1 Full Synthetic and K&N Gold Series oil filter, and car is an automatic.

The actual rattle/noise is that of a small rock rattling inside a coffee can. However the rattle is pretty quick, like that of a maraca.

So, it was a broken motor mount insert.
