I had a hell of a time getting my dealer to acknowledge this TSB. I had to call Chrysler's 800 # (I believe it's 800-992-1997 but I could be wrong, I got the # from ptdoityourself.com) and have the mothership call my dealer before they would agree to replace my PCM.

Rainman,

If you bought the car in October, 2003, you need to check the build date. Look at the TSB 'quoted' above and check to see if your build date is earlier than the ones listed on the TSB. If it isn't and you're having a problem it would have to be in a different place.

I assume it is the TSB problem. I have not checked the build date, but thought it said all turbos before december '03. I will check it though. I have only noticed the miss 4 or 5 times during the 20,000 miles on it. It has always happened at the high RPM range and almost is difficult to recognize. I figured I may as well take it in and have the PCM replaced if it is under warranty.

OOPS!!! I apologize for the confusion. I see I have had the purchase date on my PT wrong all along. I bought the first turbo sold in Albuquerque in October of '02 NOT '03. It is definitely prior to the March '03 for autosticks.

I AM SO FRUSTRATED!! I just got off the phone with chrysler customer service. I was trying to get them to call the dealership to let them know they have to replace the PCM. The gentleman I spoke with me told me that the dealerships don't have to follow the TSB exactly and in this case can try to flash the memory and if it doesn't help, then maybe they'll replace the PCM. What should I do? SHould I take it in, have them flash it and just call back the next day and tell them it didn't help. Plus, what if they try to replicate it and it doesn't happen? I appreciate any help I can get now as I am not sure what I should do about this......

Hi guys, please your help.

What are the sympthoms for this PCM problem?

I just left my PT Turbo 03 (automatic, bought on January 03) with the dealer because it suddendly stops. By example, I stop on red light and when try to advance the car just start to vibrate, all the control lights go on and the engine stops. I just turn the engine switch off and on, and the cards works well again. This had happen like 3 times, and I took the car to the dealer because warranty is about to expire.

Also, I noted a very poor gas mileage.

Hope you can help me with information. regards[8)]

My unqualified guess is that your fuel line is being choked...dirty fuel filter, injectors, pinched line, etc.

Definitely not this PCM problem, which I noticed I had yesterday.

Probably not. Nearly everyone that complained of poor fuel consumption was either a victim of a bad MAP (SRT) or bad PCM (PT).
