I was gonna stay out of this but I can't help it. How much sense does it make for Daimler-Chrysler To say Synthetic for the SRT-4 and Dino for the PT GT?? NONE!I've gotta see that to believe it! Synthetic just makes sense! Change it when you decide it's right. but change it regularly, oil AND filter!
And while I'm on filters....I was a Fram guy for as long as Macster....since 1966..until they were bought out. Not the same folks now Macster! Not the same product either! I use WIX now, good stuff. K&N has good ones too.
Happy New Year!
Joe

It is to prevent infuriating all of the old people who are reluctant to change.

ROLO, The Castrol synthetic is probably great oil. However, the latest version of Mobil 1 is one to two generations ahead of all the other synthetics. That's probably why you don't see Syntec as factory fill in high-end Porsches, Mercedes, CR5 Corvettes and so on. I've got personal experience with over 2 million miles in a small private fleet of turbo powered pickups and semis without a single engine or turbo failure, all using Mobil Synthetic products. It has a lot to do with my signing on the dotted line for a turbo enhanced vehicle to call my own. That said, it's still much more important to keep it clean!

That works for me!

You made some good points there.

I have 5-quarts of it and my K&N filter ready for "when I feel like it." [8D]

...Which may be any day now. I changed it at 900 mi. since I do not know how long it sat at the dealer. I played it safe with Castrol dino since "break-in" is still controversial. I will say that the oil was clean. I have 1900 mi. on it now. I am due to wash the undercarriage soon, so I will probably change it in a week or two. I may just go every 2500.
