You're right - I should amend the EO number thing to 'OEM' OBDII-compliant upgrades.
The Mopar "Street" Catalog lists several Neon controllers for '95-'99 vintages that have CARB EO D-265-18. This is on the same page as the PT Stage X listings.

Perhaps the recalibration is not as involved as the PT turbo upgrades, but apparently Mopar does not how to get things approved. [:I]

Ford has similarly CARB approved upgrades for its sport-compact vehicles.

Maybe is is simply just not worth the trouble...the Cost/Benefit Analysis showed that it was a bad idea. (dunno if I mentioned that already)

Or, maybe Mopar is silently protesting the whole let's-all-bend-over-backwards-for-California's-feel-good-solve-nothing laws and said, "screw it. 49 out of 50 ain't bad."

heh, sorry, winding down from a political thread on another board, hehe

You're missing the point: majority rules.

Can you allude to which three checks these area.

Those who decide to run their engines illegally on CA streets might be interested in knowing.

Sure the emissions are fine, but the laws are not written like that unfortunately.

Thanks.

But there is no majority getting anything. Mopar says that it may never be used on a street car. That means the other 49 too, not just CA.

Is the stage I/II kit in compliance with the U.S. EPA (Federal/49state) memorandum 1A or with the Clear Air Act?

ptgtcb, NO! My read is that stage 1 stage 2 and stage 3 are not legal on any public street in America!! It is in non compliance with US EPA laws. It is in non compliance because Chrysler has not applied to either EPA or CARB for compliance or exemptions!!
