Unhappy GT Turbo advice?

Hey Folks,
I'm new to this forum, so maybe this has been posted before?

In six months I'm thinking of buying my sisters PT GT Cruiser Turbo. I love the looks and versatility of these cars/trucks(LoL). I'm a long time Mopar fan. I own a 340 Formula S 68 Barracuda.

My Sisters GT's tranny went out, she had it rebuilt and it just went out again. In less then a year, so the rebuild has a warranty. My question is. What do you guys do to these Autostick Trannies to make them last behind Stage I turbo kits? Everything I've read on line says the trannies in these PTs are weak? Anybody know a "shift kit" or what to do to make these trannies stronger?!?!
