put your hand by the exhaust of a running car and you can feel your hand being pushed away by the exhaust gases.
A turbo uses exhaust gases to spin a wheel that spins another wheel that acts as a fan to blow more air into the car's intake.
More air + some more gas = more HP.

good explanation it will give you that "SIT YOU BACK IN YOUR SEAT" best thing is to drive a non turbo and then a turbo its pretty easy to see the difference

the turbo requires synthetic oil to help with the heat and i think they require premium fuel

The three things are required for combustion are air, fuel and ignition source. The more air and fuel you can ignite in an cylinder the more HP you will make. While and engine is, as they say, just a big air pump, putting a turbo on it helps it pump more air into the cylinder by pressurizing the intake. Then the injectors have to be up to putting more fuel in and then the spark plug lights it off. This is not something you want to do yourself unless you have a lot of tech skills or you will probably grenade your engine.

Only the H.O. engines "recommend" 93, but you can use lower. The standard turbos, they recommend 87 and nothing higher or lower.

In the GT you can use lower octane in a pinch, but not all of the time. The computer will not totally compensate for all knock. Been proven on a scan gauge.
