Installed the BTG CAI today. I love the way it sounds, and the added throttle response. The only question I have though is what to do with the metal bracket that came with it. It is black metal and has two holes on the ends. The instructions did not say anything about this. Anyone know what this is for?

Crap, I can't remember what's it for, but it's important. They added it in after there were some complaints. Maybe some one knows more detail...sorry

Try this link. There is a picture. It is kind of hard to see but it is there.

I haven't installed mine yet either but...there should be a screw on the underside of the CAI that holds the Filter into the metal tube. one end of the Metal strap attaches to that. The other attaches to an existing nut near the breather hose...If memory serves.
I have a copy of the new instructions at home that I can link to later if you cannot find them. You should be able to download them from the PT-tuning site though

I just looked at the link that ptgtcb posted above and you can clearly see where the other end attaches (the one near the breather).

The online installation sheet has been updated and is now available for view at http://www.pt-tuning.com/pdfs/GT_Intake_Install_Web.pdf
It shows how to attach the bracket to the intake assembly and references the other attachment location, which is a factory fastener on the engine cover. If you have properly positioned the bracket onto the intake as shown, then it will naturally line up with, or close to, the correct fastener on the engine. Webmaster, PT-Tuning.com |
