Default 04 GT missing and jerking, Po300

Hey guy's, I have a problem I cannot figure out on a 2004 PT GT 5-speed with 100,233 miles and a k&n drop in air filter. I just bought the car and it ran great for 3 day's. I did notice a little bit of a miss at idle on the 2nd day. I figured it to be plugs or wires. On the 4th day I got a CEL and a PO300 code. I took the car to a local guy and he said the plugs, wires, and coil pack was all new. And it appeared to be getting good fire. And as he test drove the car the CEL was blinking. So I pick up the car and it then starts to jump to jerk anytime you accelerate rapidly with the CEL blinking. So I park the car and go to the internet for solutions. I replaced the cam sensor last night and cleared the codes to no avail. Now the CEL is off and not blinking, but the problem is still there. I drove the car about 10 minutes in all. As long as you feather the throttle there is no issues. Only when you try to accelerate rapidly, no matter the rpms. It does it at 30mph just as it will do it at 70 mph. When it starts to jerk and jump and you stay into the throttle, it will not increase in rpms or speed, almost like a limp mode. The local guy did a compression check and said it had 130 on 1 cyclinder and 90 on the other 3. He said possibly bent valves, but the car ran great for the first 3 days. So any help would be great, thanks

Maybe the timing belt jumped? Did the previous owner ever changed the timing belt? Because it needs to be changed at 100k miles.

Timing belt could be stretched and have jumped, which could cause bent valves.

Either way, if the timing set (and water pump) haven't been done... it's time.

Did you use a aftermarket sensor? PT's do NOT like aftermarket electronics.

Maybe, but the compression check was done before the car started the jumping. So I am not sure, esp since the idle miss was there before also

Yeah, it was one from advance auto parts. So, idk if I should try a dealer sensor. Or just go ahead and remove the head. It just seems weird that it drove fine for 200 or 300 miles with the low compression before it started this all of a sudden jerking.

you know to bend a valvue is pretty hard the PT is a non interferance engin yes the valvues can hit each other btu only if the belt breaks at a high RPM and i dont think you can bend valvues in 3 cylenders id for sure change the snesor first and maybe have some one else do a compression check you can get a cheap test klit for like $20 and tesat it yourself

I may do that a little later, I just hate to spend money on another sensor and that not be the issue since I have tried 2 already. Esp since I never got a sensor code. But thanks for the reply. Will do another compression test next week!

Has anyone had a fuel related issue with these symptons, i.e fuel pump or filter. It's def not the cam sensor. Not worried about the miss, just need to stop the jerking?
