Default I need some help please.

I was driving my Pt Gt Last night, Tried to beat a light and as soon as I got thru the light, My cruiser shut off. I rolled into the parking lot thinking it was out of gas. (It was close to E). Had my brother get some gas for me. Put it at half a tank. But it wont start. I cannot figure this out. Fuses are good, Relays are good, New alternator, New starter. It just turns over but doesn't fire up. Before all this happened maybe two months ago, If you put gas in it , it wouldn't start, Just turn over, so what I figured out is if I pull the negative terminal off for 20secs. then it would fire up. It didn't do it all the time but It did do it. It never threw any codes during this...but a sign to reset it was that the fan would kick on when trying to start, even if it was cold. The fan doesn't kick on now, when trying to start. So not sure if its related. It gets pretty frustrating not having a vehicle I can fit my whole family in, So any help on this is greatly appreciated.
2.4l turbo autostick 150000mi. Thanks in advance guys.

Timing belt? That's how they act if it breaks.

Nope, unless you were VERY unlucky and the valves hit each other, you might hear that. You listed 150K on the clock, has the timing belt ever been done that you know of? They should be replaced..along with the water pump because you're already in there @ about 90K.
Also, it wouldn't hurt to replace the belt tensioner at the same time.

Nope. Just won't start. If it wasn't a turbo I'd say to take off the cam sensor and see if it's turning when you turn the key. If the belt is broken, the cam shaft won't be turning but I think with a Turbo, there's too much stuff in the way to do that easy trick.

Also note, with that many miles, it isnt healthy on fuel pump/filter to run that low on gas. Ive saw several vehicles that run out of gas, the pump then starts pumping trash, rust, etc. from the bottom of the tank where it has settled over time, and block the filter or burn out the pump.
You might have already checked this, but id make sure its getting fuel before doing anything serious.

Camshaft as suggested above. Usually switched out at the same time with the crank sensor.

As for the timing belt, you should see part of it as if you're looking down underneath the timing belt cover/torward the torque strut.

Otherwise, take off that timing belt cover.
