Default Preventative Maintenance

Im swapping out my turbo this weekend, I've already done a few pre maintenance items (spark plugs & wires, air filter, Etc). I also have new synthetics, oil filter, and coolant ready to go for swap time. Question is, my car is pushing around 150,xxx. I KNOW my timing belt has never been replaced, that's a sad fact. Should I just go ahead and replace it while I'm down there? If so whats the best place to get a reasonable replacement. Should I replace anything else when doing so? (Cams, tensioners)?? I've been posting a bit latley and reading a lot trying to get prepaired for this.I want to do this, But I dont want to have to be back under the hood in 3 weeks if I can help it. What's the word, anything you think I should look @ while I'm under the hood?

150,000 on the original timing belt!Yes,you should definately go ahead and change it.You should also change the tensioner and water pump while your at it.A lot of people on here get there timing belt kits from RockAuto Parts Catalog .You should probably go ahead and change the drive belts and hoses while you have everything apart too.

Too late but I would be looking at doing the coolant feed and return lines for the turbo and new oil feed and oil return lines for the turbo and lastly the two coolant feed and return lines for the oil cooler.

The rubber sections will not last forever and when you have the turbo out, that is the time to repalce them. I did them all last year save the oil feed and return.
Note I only had 100K and my turbo is fine since I have always used synthetic.
If your turbo failed because it was coked up, you best replace them(oil lines) or you will be installing a new turbo inshort order. Ask Chris at turbos unleashed.

Car goes onto the lift this friday. Replacements will include:

.Timing belt and tesnioners.
.Water pump
.Thermostat
.Air filter
.Spark plugs
.Turbo (Remember that I have purchased this myself, Family Mech is just doing the swap)
.Oil in line, (Family Mech, said my other lines look fine and they could be cleaned. How do you feel on this?)
.Fog light relay (about time)
.Plus a new A/C charge, it's real hot here in the summer.
.Coolant flush and refill for the radiator and such.
.New mobil one oil filter and mobil one full synthetic oil change.

Not to mention he washes all the cars he does work on.

Subtotal cost to me: $590.00 + tax ($0.07/1.00).

Total Cost: $631.30
