Default A/C will cause engine to stall

Hey guys and gals, new to the forum and posting my first question.
When I turn on my A/C at idle while in any gear but Park or Neutral my engine will quit. While at speed this does not happen and A/C functions normally.
My high and low side pressures are good and I have already installed a new IAC valve thinking that maybe it was not opening all the way or responding too slowly. It did not make any difference.
Any idea where I can go from here?
Thanks.

Welcome to the forum.Check your fan to make sure it is running while the air is on.If not, that is probably your problem.

Might be the fan or tune-up but it's the computer that raises the idle to compensate for the loss of power when the compressor comes on. You might have a problem with the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) or the IAC (Idle Air Controller) also.

Remove throttle body and IAC motor and give it a good clenaing. Passageway for the IAC motor is probably all carboned up and it cant respond fast enough and car stalls.

Thanks everybody. No codes and fan comes on with A/C.
I do have a new IAC installed but will remove TB tomorrow and give it a good bench cleaning.
I'll let you know what happens.

OK, I removed and cleaned the throttle body making sure to check IAC passage. It actually was not that bad at all.
Reinstalled with the new IAC valve and I still have the same problem.
Any other thoughts?

This is Mr. Obvious but does the comperssor make any strange sound when it is engaged like the bearings are bad? I am thinking too much drag on the engine for some reason.

I am trying to think of any other reason the computer would not compensate for the AC but am coming up empty

Nope, compressor seems to be working just fine. High and low side pressures are good and I dont hear anything that sounds like a bad compressor.
