Well I worked for HESS gas back in the day. I can tell you ALL tanks have water in them! I stuck enough tanks over my time there to know, we had a paste we would put on the stick to see how much water was in the gas. We had a limit of inches per tank and then we had to have it pumped off. Also never get gas while or right after a tanker drops a tank, it mixes the underground gets the water moving up the lines, and stirs all the silt on the bottom of the underground.

Also I think 93 octane is 93 octane in this day and age. There are only so many places refineing oil to gas. I do use Hess 93. I use Sunoco 94 in my bike. There is only one Sunoco in my area that has a hose for each grade, on a bike gettin only 3 gal gas, I dont want the hose, pipe, pump, full of the last customers grade.

To all who have replied I want to say thanks.
I took the car into the dealer yesterday, and they were very helpful and looked at it right away. They found one sparkplug wire that was not on all the way, which was from my changing the sparkplugs the day before, and they also put new plugs in the car. But they said that apparently that was not the problem. The car has no error or fault codes even though it is running so poorly. I told them the car had a Stage 1 Kit but was acting more like a Stage -2 Kit.. LOL. Anyway they said it will take a while to unravel exactly what is the problem.
Hopefully on Monday the mystery will be solved. The dealer is doing a great job in trying to get me back on the road again.

this is my customer and he brought his gt into my shop. i just want to tell what we did and found.

things we checked:

fuel pressure check
compression check
running compression check
leak down test
pulled valve cover to look for any valve train problems
spark plugs
coil
spark plug wires
pcm

what we found:

even after doing a fuel pressure test and the injectors held 60psi with no leakdown we pulled the fuel rail off and #1 injector was dripping. this was causing alot of extra fuel in that cyl. and the car was missing really bad.

just wanted to keep everyone up to date on this problem, it had us scratching our heads for a short time.

thanks tommy
all seems to be well now, my customer will pick up his car today

I just want to thank Tommy and all of his people at the five star dealership. They did a fantastic job with this one. I am very knowledgeable about cars, and it had me stumped, so it was time to let the experts look at it. I am going to purchase several new injectors to keep as spares in case this ever happens again. I still suspect the gasoling from the offbrand station as the culprit in causing the problem. One thing I can tell anyone experiencing the same symptoms, if you pull the plugs and one of them is really really wet, then go right to the injector and investigate. I had tried to solve the problem with injector cleaner and new spark plugs. Nothing was working, but plug number 1 was really wet looking, plugs two thru four were perfect. So... I hope that everyone has as great a dealership as I am lucky to have at my disposal, and someone as caring and fantstic as Tommy to help solve any mysteries.
The case of the mysterious misfire is now closed... LOL.
OH.. one other thing... I was informed with the stage 1 PCM, it will not issue error codes like the stock PCM, which is why my vehicle did not have any error or trouble codes even though it was running more like a Stage -2.

So this car is an '03 with Stage 1, right? This means it has the stage 1 (aka '04) injectors, which technically are not covered by any DC warranty... Right?

Hmmm.

your statement is (technically) correct the 03 stage i kit is not covered under warranty, and the 04 injectors are covered on the 04 cars warranty.
