O.K I have the heated seats do they shut off on their own, i thought my butt was going to catch on fire...(and can the seat catch fire)
also when you select high does the switch stay depressed or should it pop back up the same as when selecting low? and finally, i noticed without the key in i can adjust the power seat, is this right??? |

As for the seat adjusting it makes sense to be able to w/o the key, especially if 2 drivers of different height drive the car (read 6+ FT hubby, 5'1" wifey) make sense?

The first tab turn the butt warmer on and the second tab in the same direction turn it off. I found that out by accident. Try it on yours and see whether it works the same.

if you touch the high or low setting once it comes on, touch it again, it turns off. They do not turn off automatically like a thermostat and can get your butt pretty hot on high.No risk of spontaneous combustion. The switches on mine pop back up when you touch them and should as they're electronic and not mechanical.

If your high-side part of the switch is staying depressed, then it may have gotten something down in it (like when you get something sticky like Coke on a keyboard and the keys stick).
As for the power seat, every power seat I have ever seen works without the key in the ignition, going back to the 70s.
