I get roughly 240 miles / tank with about 2.5 gallons left over. Usually I am on or just under 20MPG.

back from a 1200 mile run. We took my brothers GT, S1, 1800 miles on the clock. The best we did was 24.5 mpg. I am a bit suprised. I used cruise, set to 73 or so for most of that. Strait drive, no auto-sticken. Anyway on that long of a trip at steady highway I looked for more. So it apears (no big suprise) we drive pigs. Interesting thing over all the Pitsburgh Mnts. I never really had ANY issue with cruise surging or anything, it was always very smooth and did not seem to work the motor up and down as some cars I have used cruise in. Still it ran great and has all the guts you need to cross 31/2 states in 9 hours.

You are getting about 2 mpg more than me LAF so that is probably within tolerances for this model!!

Just took a day trip from Flagstaff Az to Payson and down to Phoenix. 176 mi. Mark this one down! 30 mpg. Had the cruise control on most of the time at 70. My husband did the math...not me![
] It isn't all down hill either! |

I just dont't know what to say! I did the trip from Flagstaff to Phoenix in my Dodge MiniVan with a trailer and got 30 mpg by holding my speed down to 60 mph exept on the big downgrades by using my cruise control. I just don't think I could do anything near that with my PT GT! BTW it is mostly downhill!! My best highway mileage has been 22 mpg from LA to San Diego with cruise set at 70 mph! I do run the tranny in 4th not D.

The best MPG I ever got was when I was still in the breakin period. I set the cruise for 55MPH and got 25 MPG (long drive). It's been all downhill (MPG wise) ever since.

I tell ya, last time I went to Ocala for the Garlits show back in November, I ran at a steady 70 on the way back and got about 30 too.
For most cars, there's a magic speed at which you get great gas mileage.Anything over that, and it nosedives. In my Dakota R/T, it was 60MPH.I got 22 in it at that speed, and over that it dropped to about 17.

Since getting my PT a few weeks ago I've been a bit disappointed in my mileage, getting only about 20mpg or so. I just filled up today and knew it was going to be different. I had spent the first 1/2 tank (according to the gas gauge at least!) on the freeway and the second half split between city/freeway miles. This tank got me 25mpg so I'm pretty happy about that. Now, with the new BTG duals installed and a trip to Palm Springs this weekend we'll see if the mileage is impacted either way.

Just put about 800 miles on my 04 GT. Now it's got about 1400 miles on it.
The whole trip I got about 17-18mpg, on the highway at 78mph (Cruise set). I am very dissapointed. The Chrysler dealer says after the "break in" period I will be getting much better mileage. I hope so, I'm kind of mad at being misled with mileage info.
