went on a trip to the bay area this weekend and on a full tank of gas got only 280 miles on it. is this normal? my 89 nissan maxima with a v6 would get 400 miles on a full tank of gas.have any of you guys had the same problem? by the way i have not had the pcm changed out and i heard you get better gas mileage when you do get it replaced, but is it a big difference? thanks in advance.

hmmm, I average 350-400km per tank....
remember this is a heavy little car, and a big 4cyl, and once the turbo kicks in it's hungry for fuel... |

I hear you there, Mine is about the same as you 275-280 miles on a tank

That sounds about right. If I remember right the Maxima has 20 gallon tank too.

I've been tracking my mileage religiously since day one and am currently hovering around an average of 21 mpg. With lots of highway driving I'll get 23 to 24 mpg.

haha, you must drive like I do, Punch, constantly accelerating/decelerating, never a constant velocity; I usually get 240-280 MPT.

I usu drive 2-3 miles to work through town and that is slow driving. Alot of 2nd and 3rd gear. Gas mileage sucks.
