Default PCM vs ECM
Ijust got my electic Blue gt this past nov 03. After reading these forums I immediately brought the GT in for the Upgraded PCM (Before my first service) No problem at all with my dealership. However I am now considering the Stage 1 upgrade and would like to know if this new PCM will be ****-canned when I get the Stage 1. In other words is the Stage one PCM the ECM that I've read on various threads?

stage 1 will replace the cars computer completely, so your new computer you can put on a shelf for safe keeping...

If this is not going to be a problem, I would want anyones upgraded new computer that is left over after the stage 1 upgrade!! Yes, I know I can get one free but it would save me a hassle and maybe even lying!!

I don't think it would work on your car. Like the Stage upgrade, the PCM would probably have to be programed with you VIN and and your final drive gearing if you have an autostick and the donor is a 5 speed.

I wonder how those are programmed...probably a proprietary tool..?
