Problem w/ GT Oil sensor??

For the second time since owning this car, it wouldn't start after getting gas. The oil light came on, I popped the hood and went inside to get a quart of oil. I was a bit confised b/c I just changed the oil Sunday. The GT demanded about a CUP of oil and still wouldnt turn over. I called my dad to help me move the monsterous thing over to the side and bring enough tools so I could remove my charge pipe and take off the boost controller so my boy could make a visit to Chrysler. By the time my dad arrived and asked me to show him the light, it turned over....

Me thinks its a problem with the sensor sticking or something...telling my engine theres not enough oil, when indeed there is. The GT will be down anyway to powdercoat the intake manifold so I may just leave it up at Chrysler for them to play with sometime that week.

Anyone else have this problem? [:I]

No, But it wouldnt have started, stoped, started stop, then just given up. Also, why would the oil light come on? [:I]

My oil light has come on two times. i would turn off the car, check oil level (perfect) and tighten the gas cap (just incase). When i turn the car back on, the car is fine again.

Saki, your oil sensor has no relation to your starting problem.
My oil light started coming on whenever it felt like it.
When it did, I'd shut it off and restart the car and it wouldn't come on. I took it to my dealer, they called 5 Star and were told it was a faulty sensor. They replaced the sensor and the oil light hasn't come on since.

Chicken or egg: Is the oil system faulty, causing the indicator and failure to start, or is the engine's failing to run causing insufficient oil pressure and consequent oil light?

Both times, was it the same gas station?

gtpt:If I cant start the car b/c the oil sensor is causing the engine to think I dont have enough oil, then YES there is a correlation b/t a faulty sensor and the car not starting...

rolo: better be the first explaination...different gas stations.

I mean, I tried to start the thing 4-5 times and with each crank the car would start then die faster and faster until it wouldnt turn over at all. Even after adding oil it wouldnt turn over. It took like 15 minutes for it to turnover and run.

do you have a mobil speed pass?..... if you do, the speed pass will ineract with the skim key and cause a no-start

Now that would be a very interesting cause. Only trouble is that she had the Oil light come on.I don't think the Speed Pass could cause that. I do believe that they have Mobil stations in her area.I know they have them in South FL.
