Are you talking stock or modded MC and MCS??? if your saying stock cars beat WRXs you are a damn liar or on crack. how can a car that has less power than a honda civic ex beat them(MC)?? also your are still on it that minis can beat us on curvy roads, we know that and are not arguing? Oh and alot of PT owner are less than 30 if you didnt know. The only reason the mini was brought back was because of the success of cars like the new Bug and the PT. Why don't you just fold yourself, get in your mini and go away??[|)]

PTBarnum,

I think Mike was referring more to the straight line for the S4's and R32's. You posted that you beat a S4, WRX, etcs. with a 115hp Mini on a straight line, but have a feeling you meant the tracks. (If you look at your original post, you inferred straight line also.)

Beat the Civic in a straight line.

On the track, the MCS beats just about most that it runs with.

Modded MCS's beat the Porsche GT3 cup Cars around turns, but not straights. The GTcup driver even ran up to the MCS driver after the run and praised him and the mini, following it up with, I gotta get a MINI.

The s4 and R32's were in Moderate to Curvy canyon Roads, and there was acknowledgement of it.

The Lotus was on a straight.

Please stop trying to make your Pt's out to be more than cruisers.

I don't mean to insult anyone other than those of the ignorant breed that are looking to pedastool their PT's.

I would like to see a PT beat one of our Mini's. Driven by equally experienced drivers.

PS yes the MCS has beaten WRX's AND STi's in the canyons, where as, they keep up.
Remember, Road Race is not 1/4 mile and no one really cares about 1/4 mile in respect to these types of cars.

you said it your self, MODDED cars beat them , NOT stock. this whole thread has been about stock cars. If we start to talk about modding cars, some people here are reaching almost 300hp, and people with the srt4 have reached 500hp(same engine). There are coil overs, sway bars, and other things that make the pt handle just as good as a mini.and to do all that it would prob. end up being cheaper than buying a MCS with the JC works.

excuse me, you obviously did not read what was printed, but what you wanted to read.

I mentioned MODDED cars ONCE in relation to a GT3 Cup CAR!

Need an english lesson with that bag of groceries?

I don't think anyone here has the illusion that the PT Cruiser is a "race car" whether it be in the 1/4 mile or the twisties. If they do, then they are in for a rude awakening when they come up against a real sports car. Chrysler never designed it to be one, and no matter what they do to a PT, it never will be one. Chrysler designed the PT to be useful and diverse, and with the addition of the GT model, added the last piece of the puzzle that was sorely missing - more power.
The average age of an owner is 51. I'm sure alot of soccer mom's own PT's too. Cannot argue with these facts. So older people do own these cars, moreso than younger ones. It really does not appeal to a younger generation as a whole. The GT and convertible may change that, but only time will tell.
The mini is a good looking cool little car and does what it's supposed to do very well. The PT does what it's supposed to do very well. They just do very different things. To make comparisons between the to is just a useless waste of time. Get the car you like and can afford and does what you need a car to do and be happy.
I am not 51 and I am not a soccer mom. I do not fit the mold of the average PT owner. I own a '03 Dreamcruiser. I like the car because it is unassuming and gets absolutely no respect from anyone in the car community except other PT owners. I like the fact that it can suprise alot of other cars and owners who write it off as a glorified minivan. In a way, it really is.
I like the look on other drivers faces when I blow past them, and when they beat me, they still have a look of astonishment that I actually kept up with them. After all, the PT was not meant to do this.
If you went to the drags, and in one lane was a red '70 Plymouth Cuda with stripes and spoilers on it, and in the other lane was a beige '64 Dodge Polara with stock body colored steel wheels on it, my money would be on the Dodge. Never under estimate a sleeper.
I think in the future the GT will go down in Chrysler history as one it's great "sleepers" alongside the old Omni GLHS.
I love my car, and I love lots of others cars too, and I'm not going to bash any of them. I just like sleepers. If Chrysler put the Hemi in a minivan, I'd probably be in line for that one. If there was one. I,m sure it would be very short.
Enough of my rambling. I love my car, you love your car. There is no best. Once people realize that, they can then move on and be happy.

mini is better no question...i have drivin a pt and got out of it running to my mini like a dramatic movie...they are sad wastes of metal....you wasted your money...sorry you will do ok tho...just stay out of our canyons...and I can attest to the mini beating the s4....it was actually one of the funniest things ever...i have never seen such a high end sports car bow to a 20,000 mini cooper and i almost died laughing...he just gave up...his car couldnt hang[B)]

RodRun,

Well Put.

I have an affliction for Dodge and Chrysler myself anyhow.

Also, Chrysler assisted in the build of the MINI. Pause. Yup.

I love the Dodge Ram series, they are the best trucks out there, now the SRT Ram... awesome, but not for me, at this time... maybe a few years ago.

Love the magnum and the 300.

The Srt4 is nice too except for the interior. and the plain body styling.

They OverSaturated the market with PT's. Thusly, losing a lot of consumers. The piss poor power of the PT caused them to add the turbo. Pre- Turbo these PT's were not hill climbers. The Turbo was a step in the right direction. Unfortunately, the engine compartment is not big enough to accomodate more.

I think the styling of the PT needs more drama. Maybe a FULL Sized HEMI v8 version in the spirit of an old school delivery van needs to come out. We are over the SUV hump and coming back into vehicles with STYLE. *See 300, Magnum, BMW7 Series, etc etc etc.
