I put a 75/35 red top, its not the same size and the posts are reverse... no problem though, just turn the battery around and it all works good.

here's a good site for the specs and all if you want to see that...

I forget that this is the turbo section, I have a 2001 non turbo

I've been through this one before:

http://www.ptcruiserlinks.com/forum/...hTerms=battery

Optima does not make a direct replacement battery for the PT. In addition, the PT requires a reversed-post or "R" model number. Simply spinning the battery 180 won't do it because the goofy cables won't reach, and *** more importantly *** one of the terminals is just way too close to the metal fender [:0]

Use my research or do your own, but be aware that the traditional notion of a simple battery r/r has become more involved.

Has anyone used one of those solar battery chargers before. Manufacturer says it will keep your battery fully charged and will extend the life of your battery. Just a thought.

yes, all that is true, I got the cables to reach just fine.. and sure the battery post is close to the firewall, but that issue is taken care of by getting a battery cover, so no worries there either.

I had same problem with my Daughters 97 Neon and just gave up and got a Sears Die Hard Gold for $100 installed!! I wanted the Optima like I used in my Mustang but it seemed like a lot of work and cable changing for my tastes and her car!!
