Everyone jumped on this poor guys a** for the same thing.
the difference was the topic title...i think alot of people assumed from the title that it was against street racing.

i also think that street racing isn't the greatest choice, but there are varying degrees of stupidity within it. that guy was just making a comment about the younger people that try and show off at high speeds on the street that have zero skill and logic.

in my personal expierences, i've known of far more accidents/fatalities relatinging to drunk driving and fatigue behind the wheel. i'll save my 2 cents for that.

I think the main difference is that they were squirreling around with traffic on the roads. I don't mind listening to a story about two car on deserted roads going at it, but when others are involved, it's time to back off. Just my 2 cents.

And the reason you bought a GT was ? The turbo made it look better?
Give me a break, I am very careful when and where, I see alot of yappin about wanting more power out of these cars. Your not going to make me believe you use it ONLY on the strip. My grandfather dropped my butt into the drivers seat when I was ten, been driving motorcycles and cars and trucks ever sense. You want to see a safe driver, anyone that has played dodgemm with cars while you are riding a motorcycle makes for one alert car driver.
No one got hurt, no one got a ticket and no other cars were in danger while this was going on. Sorry to bother the do gooders.
I wont post anymore. (Culprat, unless I race the MINI)

Do gooder bullsh!t. Cry me a song. Eight people lost their life in Portland alone in '03 because of street racing. Three were the drivers and five were innocents. Experience don't mean squat when you street race. When you least expect it someone will pull out in front of you, change lanes, etc. People do it when you are driving normally. You think all people who bought fast cars do it to street race? That's sad. RODRUN, I hope you will continue to post. Just not interested in dangerous street racing. Don't want to hear on the forums how someone got hurt, you got hurt or worse, because you had a juvenile moment. Life is too precious. I'll bet those eight people would agree if they could.

Hey, I don't want to rehash an old debate! Personally I enjoy the stories Rodrun posts. Everyone I'm sure has posted about this in one or another so let's just sit back and read on. At least folks are 'representin' the PT against all those rice rockets in a positive light. Just be careful out there!

When I look back at the things that I have done in my cars, it amazes me that I'm still here today. 80 MPH on Lower Wacker Drive in a 76 Monte Carlo is one that comes to mind. Stupid? Absolutely. Am I going to tell someone else not to do it? Nope. People need to experience things for themselves no matter what they are told. Right or wrong, it dosen't matter, this is human nature. It goes back to Adam and Eve.
Most people that ripped on the other guy in the other post admitted to doing the same things at times in the past. There used to be an old saying, don't remember it completely, something about those free of sin and casting the first stone...
