Do you really need one? NO Does a BOV make a significant performance increase? NO Will a BOV prolong the life on my turbo? Probably not, unless you plan to keep it for over 100,000 miles. Do you want one? Probably... [8D] ...YES!!! [8)]

I'd like to keep it past 100k. So maybe I should check into it.
Should I just ask Chrysler? Thanks.

As for me, I finally made the decision this past week to "go for it". I purchased a Mopar BOV and plan to have it installed on my GT along with a amx1397 Brand-X Turbo Downpipe which I just ordered. The link to the how-to PDF is dead.
Anyone saved a copy and can host it up? Thanks in advance. |

Hi everyone. I just installed my BOV today at home, took me about 1 hour. All i used was a 1/4 drive ratchet and a open end wrench. You get to the bottom 2 bolts underneath. It does sound cool but thats about all you get out of it. See ya

Isn't that enough for about $60? LOL If I can get one for around $45 I may get one but it is not really a performance part just a nice to have part IMHO! I would not really worry about warranty claims as I doubt it would cause any really expensive malfunctions! I would put it in the same class as a K&N intake system.

Recommend one apply High Temp RTV Gasket Seal ($6 tube at NAPA) on both sides of the BOV gasket at time of installation. This will prevent any possible leakage (as reported by some SRT-4 owners) and, from what I have read, may increase boost by as much as 2 lbs.
