Default Broken front motor mount

The other day while under hard acceleration I had some clunking from the engine compartment. I took the car to the dealer and just as I thought, I had a broken front motor mount. It took them a week to get the correct part in but it was covered under warranty.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I thought that they got this sorted out after the mount problems in the 1G neons. I'm assuming you have a 5 spd, so I would suggest either getting inserts, and purchasing a filled front mount. I'm running a Deyeme firm mount as my FMM in my neon and it is amazing! it makes a little extra vibration at idle but is unoticeable at speed. [8)]

however if you really want to firm things up add filled mounts all round w/ a solid rear

Today while shifting my 5 spd from first to second, a large bang came from the engine bay. Yep, the motor mount broke again. Second time this month. Now I have to make an appointment with the dealer again.

I just got my car back from the dealer. They said that the mounts were fine but I must have broken something holding the mount to the car. I will be getting some filled mounts to resolve this problem.

Not really. They say that they would have to pull the engine to get a good look at the area. They are not sure what is causing the failure so they just replaced eveything. The poblem is fixed for now so I am happy.

Talk to Deyemme for filled mounts, or rex for inserts.

While they have the motor out you should see about gettting a HD clutch put in.
