Default a/c help

So I'm having some trouble with my ac now. It stopped working suddenly and never took the time to fix it until now. But I tried adding freon and can't get the compressor to kick on. The compressor turns easily by hand, the line shows on the gauge it's full and I've jumpered the low pressure switch to force it on and it still didn't come on. The fans also turn on. The gauge shows full when connected up.

Any suggestions?

I'm no expert, but it seems like there's only 3 things left: the compressor itself, the high pressure switch (attached to the compressor) and the computer. Most A/C shops will do a free diagnostic hoping that you'll follow their recommendations and have it fixed at their shop. You don't have to.

Oh alright. Is the high pressure switch jump able also? And my original tipm went out and I picked one up from a 2006 base. My fog lights don't work and traction control is iffy. Do you think my tipm might need programming? I can't remember if it ever worked after replacing it. I usually drive with windows down.

I can't say for sure if your TIPM needs reprogramming but I do believe you can't just throw a new one in without doing something to it and it might have to be compatible with your year and modle. The non-working fog lights could be a couple of different things like the MFS switch itself and traction control could be one of the wheel sensors.

Part of the compressor is the magnet which is what grabs the the clutch to turn the compressor. If your just turning the pulley it should not have much resistance due to its not turning the pump unless power is applied.

With out hi speed cooling from the fan the compressor will go out on hi pressure safety or the hoses will burst.
The compressor might work if you drive fast enough to get enough cool air through the condensor to cool the freon.
