I had mine powdercoated, and now it has a smooth finish that you can easily wipe off. The problem before was that with the rough surface, it was hard to clean. Plus, it looks better I think with a smooth surface.

Mike DeMoss at ForwardMotionInc.com did mine, they did a good job and have lots of colors to choose from.
