Default Battery Cables

What battery cables work on the Turbo PTs? I have a 2004 Turbo lite with really corroded cables. I'd like to replace them, but don't want to spend the $400 the dealer quotes for half the wiring harness.

Is that really the only option?

Cool Re: Battery Cables

Way back when I had the soonercruiser, I allowed the cables to stay dirty and arc badly (Neg cable I believe).
My dealer had a guy who actually braised an upgrade clamp on the end of the cable successfully....with no problem in the years after.

You can remove the cable harness from your car and "build" a new and better one from heavier gauge cables bought at your local auto parts store. You can get new block and starter end terminals and new battery terminal ends which can be soldered together with the cables. Make the new cable an inch or so longer than the old ones so when needed you can replace the terminal ends.

Cool Re: Battery Cables

Because of the electrical "load" and finicky PT elec system, my service manager said the terminal ends needed to be braised.
