Default high speed fan relay

I have an 05 turbo with a p0481 code. All the high speed fan relays I have found for this model have 5 blades, but the relay port only has 4 slots. Is there a high speed relay with 4 blades?

Have you tested the high speed on the radiator fan to see if its working okay?

Yes, I actually replaced the fan due to vibration and bearings going out.The part that has me stumped is that the high speed relays have 5 blades and the port only has 4 slots. I wish I had kept the old high speed relay for reference, but didn't think I would run into this issue.

Are you sure you got the right radiator fan for your PT Cruiser? Where did you get the new radiator fan from?

That was my thought exactly. The Turbo models have a variable speed fan run by the TIPM so there isn't just a high and low speed as far as I know.

The fan is from Rock Auto and is the model for the turbo. The new fan, and the old, both have a resistor built into the shroud which tells me there is in fact two speeds as the resistor is used to restrict the current for the low speed operation. Would a variable speed fan need a resistor?

Back to my original question in the post, had anyone know of a 4 blade, high speed relay for this model?

When I ordered the radiator fan for my PT Cruiser RockAuto gave me the radiator fan for the first generation instead of the second generation. The box even had the right number for the second generation 620-052 but inside the box was a first generation radiator fan. Thanks to this forum I did not even take the bubble wrap off yet, I just looked at the plug and saw it was the wrong one. I would not be surprised if you got the wrong one.

What's the part number for the radiator fan that you got from RockAuto?
