Default 03 Turbo Cooling Fan

I have P0480 code cooling fan. Check to see if low and high speed was working no go. Fan spins freely so I'm thinking brushes. Looked in my chilton manual section 3-6 it has 2 illustrations, 4. 15a for non turbo which looks easy and 4.15b for turbo looks a little more complicated. Charge air cooler and mounting screws, what is that. Anyone here do a cooling fan change out on a tubo want to tell how you went about changing this fan out ? It would be appreciated

Don,

The bad news is that the turbo fan was unique to the 2003 PT. It was the first Turbo PT and no other year has the same fan. if you find one from the dealer or any other place, it's like paying for a Sterling Silver replacement.

There are others in your predicament and I'll try and find some of the older thread that talk about what they did.

It's another name for the intercooler on a turbo.

Charge Air Cooler. Fits: CHRYSLER PT CRUISER | Factory Chrysler Parts

If you found a replacement fan for an 03 Turbo PT for $200.00, beware that those selling it might not know of the difference between the 03 and other turbo models.

Yeah I know, thanks for looking out for me lol I got numbers in hand and that year the motor has only one configuration. The rest of them are round. After I leave their heading to Nitro's to check it out. Yeah Buddy

Yes, that's why I said in my first response that "no other year has the same fan". Make sure anything your looking at for $200.00 has that connector.

Did you check the radiator fan itself to make sure its getting 12 volts to it?
