Default turbo spooling noise with muffler delete

I recently purchased a 2004 limited turbo with 65k . The original owner removed the muffler and put a 30-31 inch glass pack (brand unknown) in the center tunnel. On acceleration (not floored) there is a turbo spooling noise which my mechanic says is accentuated by the exhaust modification. Since i have no idea how old the glass pack is i wonder if removing it and putting a new magna flow or thrush would help. No noise on cruising no matter what speed.
Any suggestions would be great.

Do you have a stock intake? Those so called cold air intakes will make the turbo noise louder. Ask NotroPT he is running a glasspak muffler.

Have you inspected it? The turbo and cat converter usually damp noise enough so that noise is acceptable even with a poor muffler. If it's split, that'd do it...

Let me clarify - I don't mind loud exhausts ( long time harley rider and presently an owner of a jeep gc srt8 with a borla atak exhaust). Its the accentuated turbo noise overlaying the exhaust. My original feeling is that the muffler had broken down over time and the packing ( maybe steel) was flying around inside during acceleration. Hence the thought that changing out the muffler would help

Glass pack burn out . The materiel does not stay in the case when that happens.
Your description is still a bit hard to get what you are trying to achieve? The Turbo does not go into boost during normal cruising and the average psi for normal during is about 3-6 psi. Naturally if you are are a bit more aggressive with the throttle the Turbo whine will be loader. Most of the Turbo noise is usually from modified intake parts. The CAT will tend to muffle most all the exhaust noise before it gets to the muffler no matter what choice of muffler is used.
Below is a our 05 GT with stock exhaust manifold and CAT with a Cherry Bomb Glass Pack and no tail pipe section. You can hear from the video that it is not load.

At idle with a "gurgle" file uploaded via the DST

You can the Turbo starting to go into boost at 1.22 seconds into the video
